Carnegie Pavilion

The new Carnegie Pavilion is in place on "The Bluff" behind the Hickman Chamber of Commerce office, the Hickman Public Library and east of the Harold "Red" Coffey Memorial Park. The Pavilion is a great place to sit and read a book, have lunch, hold family events, or just enjoy the beautiful view. The public is encouraged to come by and visit the area and enjoy this new feature in our community. The Pavilion was sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce and the City of Hickman. The G. O. L. D. grant was executed by Martha Campbell, Director of the Community Development Department.  Her expertise and experience were vital for the final appearance of this picturesque addition to the bluff area   Much of the labor and materials were donated by local businesses and the inmates at the Fulton County Detention Center, Rick Parnell, Jailer.

This picture taken in 1918 is an incredible sight of 18,000 men preparing for war in a training camp at Camp Dodge,  Iowa. It's amazing! What a priceless gift from our forefathers.
